The Next Generation is Here
For those of us that have moved over the 50 something threshold and are celebrating 25+ years in an industry, we sometimes forget that the next generation of leaders is already in place.
Most entered the work force after the "turn of the century", a term that used to be old fashioned, but now signals the future, growth and new hope.
They have been in the work force for as many as 10 years now and have seen a complete shift in the business climate since graduating from college and embarking on "real life".
They have grown up with the Internet, cell phones and the constant influence of media. Their work life may have started in the post-September 11th environment of severe layoffs and they may work for companies that have already gone public, been taken private and gone public again. Or they may work for someone younger than they are, because much of the "seasoned" talent was stripped out in the last cutback.
One thing is for sure. They have a lot to offer. And if they have a chance to avoid some of the mistakes that we may have made in our careers, or to take advantage of all of the things that we did right, they are not afraid to ask for help.
The Executive Girlfriends' Group recognizes the need to match mentors with the next generation of leaders, not only in the travel industry, but throughout the business world. Whether you want to be an entrepreneur, a solopreneur, take over the family business, take your first company public by the age of 30 or you want to be an executive in a Fortune 1000 company, NextGen wants to be there by your side.
We will assign a mentor to you, and will also host regular monthly calls, with authors and experts on a wide range of topics.
